Meet Paul Girouard

“I strive to achieve perfection in every aspect of guitar building. It is this commitment to detail that allows me to create instruments that not only look stunning but also produce a rich and expressive sound.”

About Paul and Girouard Guitars

Woodworking has been a huge part of my life ever since I was young, working alongside my father in his workshop.

My parents noticed that I had an interest in music and bought me my first guitar when I was about 10 years old.

As a cabinetmaker by trade, I had the opportunity repair the headstock on an electric guitar for a friend. While I had it in the shop, I took it apart to see how it was made. That was the beginning of Girouard Guitars. Over the years, I’ve built many, many guitars, both solid body and semi hollow electric.”

About 5 years ago I decided to take a break from building guitars and persue some other interests. I soon realized that building guitars was a passion that I missed greatly.

Well, I’m back at it, now building Resonator guitars and Cigar Box guitars! Resonator guitars have always fascinated me. The sound, the look, the vibe that a resonator gives has had my attention for years. A switch from the past but still doing what I love.

“Every aspect of my guitars, from the wood choice to the precise placement of each fret plays a crucial role in the sound and playability.”
