What Our Customers Have to Say

For many years now I've worked with builders to create innovative & unique steel guitars. I have some really slick, modern acoustic steel guitars that ring like bells and sing like birds, but a few months ago I decided that I needed a real dog of a resonator—something that growls & barks… something raw & gritty… something with a decaying sustain.

Enter Girouard Guitars. Paul Girouard is a cabinet & guitar builder who specializes in cigar box & round neck reso-phonic slide guitars. One of the models he builds is the Tree of Life. I had him build a squareneck version and fit it with an additional mini P90 as well as the standard Fisman bridge pick up. This guitar sounds as gritty, raw, & down home as it looks…

Soft maple body 3 1/4" deep
Mahogany neck, walnut fretboard with star & moon fret markers
National Biscuit cone with Fishman Nashville series cone pick up
MDL mini P90 neck pick up
Volume, tone, & 3 way switch
Aged brass coverplate, palm rest, & tailpiece
Aged brass tacks
Antique brass tuners

This guitar is really fun to play and its “cone tone” is perfect for blues, old country, Americana, old Hawaiian, roots music, and pretty much anything 15 years past WWII that was composed on a porch, in prison, in the field, or in the outhouse.

I just can't say enough great stuff about Paul, at Girouard Guitars for sending me this Awesome Resonator. I have definitely got a new woman here. Y'all gonna be seeing a lot of this guitar. If you're looking for an awesome guitar check em out. I guarantee you won't find a better playing , or sounding Resonator.

Larry Scott Dixon, also known as Dobro LSD

Two men sit outdoors holding electric guitars. Both wear black t-shirts and shorts. One guitar has artistic designs and the other is a natural wood color. Green trees and a white railing are in the background.

What can I say besides professionalism, excellence, perfection and a master at his craft. Paul has made me two one-of-a-kind masterpieces. These guitars have travelled the US and continue to resonate as my current band Roc-Kin’-On performs from the shores of CT to Maine. These guitars not only look great but they have a tone second to none along with pickups that have a relentless sustain for carrying a note to the next level. If you haven’t explored Girouard Guitars as of yet, you’re missing out on a hidden gem for your arsenal of axes.

Hi Paul, I just wanted to follow up, I absolutely love the tone of this guitar, I’m getting the exact kind of sounds that I was hoping for with this, giving me that swampy Louisiana Delta style twang or ping sound.

I can’t get over how different it sounds than the other one which is awesome, it’s giving me the different voices that I need to put together this thing I have in my head.
